Studio Sessions for RCA
March 10-12, 1975: RCA's Studio C, Hollywood
Maybe the decision to book the new recording sessions in Hollywood was a small concession to RCA. It was business as usual for Elvis and his group to do their Vegas rehearsing in Los Angeles, but just as significantly they would be recording just a few floors below Joan Deary's office in the RCA building on Sunset Boulevard.  Deary might not have been invited to the sessions, but at least they would be done at RCA's studio, recorded to RCA's technical standards, and provide an opportunity for the label to have a listen to the tapes while the sessions were still under way.
This session marked the first time Elvis' own music firms brought in no new material. Felton had been successful in recent years in bringing Elvis songs from the creative environs of Nashville, but now the primary inspiration seemed to come from other artist. Going back to songs from Elvis' teenage years was common pratice, of course, so the next number, Faye Adams's 1953 "Shake A Hand," was hardly surprising. Elvis' voice and his unique ability to rethink something old had often made for refreshing cuts in the past, but by 1975 he seemed satisified just to walk through the tune, offering little more than a strained vocal to complement the predictable arrangement.

Just leave it to me
Don't ever be ashamed
Just give me a chance
I'll take care of everything

Your troubles I'll share
Let me know and I'll be there
I'll take care of you
Anyplace and anywhere

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can

Be truthful to me,
I'll be truthful to you
I'm in love with you so
Till I don't know what to do

So, let's call it a day
I said all I have to say
Except don't forget to pray
And shake a hand ev'ry day

Your troubles I'll share
Let me know and I'll be there
I'll take care of you
Anyplace and anywhere

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can

Be truthful to me,
I'll be truthful to you
I'm in love with you so
Till I don't know what to do

So, let's call it a day
I said all I have to say
Except don't forget to pray
And shake a hand ev'ry day

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand, Lord Lord
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can

One more time…..

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can

Yeah......... Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
