| "Today, Tomorrow & Forever" Duet version take 2 - 07-11-1963 recorded for Viva Las Vegas - A Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Picture. Steve Sholes had signed both Elvis and Ann-Margret to RCA. The fiery starlet's chart career got off to a good start with "I Just Don't Understand" in 1961, but had stalled by the time she was signed to appear alongside Elvis in Viva Las Vegas. In spite of vigorous resistance from the Colonel, the two stars recorded three duets. The prolific team of Bernie Baum, Bill Giant, and Florence Kaye had written "Devil In Disquise" for the lost album, and it was ascending the charts just as another of their songs, "Today, Tomorrow & Forever" was slotted into Viva Las Vegas. Elvis recorded two versions: a duet with Ann-Margret, and a solo version for the soundtrack EP. Of the three duets, two (including this one) were withdrawn from the movie, and the other was issued as a solo item. Lost until recently, the duet of "Today, Tomorrow & Forever" made its debut on the album by the same name. I bought this album and think it is a beautiful version, and don't understand why it hasn't been released untill now.
