Filmed in Hawaii in 1961, Blue Hawaii was Elvis's most successful flim, grossing over 31 million dollars at the box office. The soundtrack earned Elvis his 13th gold album. The film is the story of Chad, a young man just released from the Army, who comes home to Honolulu to spread his wings and embark on the great adventure that is life.. Resisting his Father's attempt to get him to work at the family business, Chad gets a job as a tour guide and is hired by a group of girls to tour Hawaii. The first part of the film was made on Oahu as Chad does his best to show all a good time, getting along with everyone except a snobby little rich girl named Ellie. Co-stars were, Joan Blackman, Angela Lansbury,, Nancy Walters, John Archer, Jenny Maxwell to name a few. My personal favorite songs from this film are, Blue Hawaii and Hawaiian Wedding Song.

Blue Hawaii
Night and you And blue Hawaii The night is heavenly And you are heaven to me Lovely you And blue Hawaii With all this loveliness There should be love Come with me While the moon is on the sea, The night is young And so are we, so are we Dreams come true In blue Hawaii And mine could all come true This magic night of nights with you Words & Music Leo Robin/Ralph Rainger
